چکیده

The purpose of carrier phase ambiguity resolution is to improve upon the precision of the estimated GNSS baseline by means of the integer ambiguity constraints. There exists a whole class of integer ambiguity estimators from which one can choose. Members from this class are, for instance, integer rounding, integer bootstrapping and integer leastsquares. In this review paper we will present the theory and application of the method of integer bootstrapping. Particular emphasis is given to the probabilistic properties of the bootstrapped estimator. We will present the probability mass function of the bootstrapped estimator, the bootstrapped pull-in regions, the distribution of the bootstrapped baseline and easy-to-compute ways of evaluating the confidence regions of the GNSS baselines. They are important if one wants to perform a rigorous quality control.

Influence of ambiguity precision on the success rate of GNSS integer ambiguity bootstrapping

In this contribution, we study the dependence of the bootstrapped success rate on the precision of the GNSS carrier phase ambiguities. Integer bootstrapping is, because of its ease of computation, a popular method for resolving the integer ambiguities. The method is however known to be suboptimal, because it only takes part of the information from the ambiguity variance matrix into account. Thi...

Theory of Carrier Phase Ambiguity Resolution

Carrier phase ambiguity resolution is the key to high precision Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) positioning and navigation. It applies to a great variety of current and future models of GPS, modernized GPS and Galileo. A proper handling of carrier phase ambiguity resolution requires a proper understanding of the underlying theory of integer inference. In this contribution a brief revi...

GNSS Carrier Phase Ambiguity Resolution: Challenges and Open Problems

Integer carrier phase ambiguity resolution is the key to fast and high-precision global navigation satellite system (GNSS) positioning and application. Although considerable progress has been made over the years in developing a proper theory for ambiguity resolution, the necessary theory is far from complete. In this contribution we address three topics for which further developments are needed...

A Comparison of TCAR, CIR and LAMBDA GNSS Ambiguity Resolution

With the envisioned introduction of three-carrier GNSS’s (modernized GPS, Galileo), new methods of ambiguity resolution have been developed. In this contribution we will compare two important candidate methods for triplefrequency ambiguity resolution with the already existing LAMBDA (Least-squares Ambiguity Decorrelation Adjustment) method: the TCAR (Three-Carrier Ambiguity Resolution) method, ...
